Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has blocked Daniel Sturridge from leaving Liverpool this summer.
The injury-prone attacker appeared to have no future at Anfield last season when Roberto Firmino filled in well as a false 9 in the German’s team.
Many expected this season to be Sturridge’s last, but Klopp has told him he is going nowhere because it would cost too much to sign an attacker with his qualities.
The former Chelsea striker may be injury-prone, but he is one of the best attackers in the Premier League and makes Liverpool more threatening when he is playing for them.
Sturridge does not have a shortage of admirers if he wants to leave, but it now appears unlikely, unless the Reds receive a bid that is too good to turn down.
Jurgen Klopp is set to make some changes to his team’s style of play ahead of next season and needs Sturridge to provide him more options.
