Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann would be a great asset for Manchester United.
Griezmann has been linked with almost every top club in Europe this year after his exploits in last summer’s European Championship and for his club, both domestically and in Europe.
Speaking on Sky Sports Henry made his admiration for the French international clear,
“I think Griezmann is the guy that everybody wants at the minute alongside Mbappe, they’re the two guys everyone is trying to get,” Henry said.
“Antoine Griezmann has a lot of seasons under his belt, he is a proven goalscorer.
“Where is he going to go? Is he going to stay at Atletico?
“He has a strong bond with the club and the fans.
“If he comes to Man United and the Premier League he can only be a great asset for the club and for the league.”
It seems an almost certainty that Griezmann will be leaving Atletico this summer, there is simply too much interest and the fee he will attract will more than likely prove too much for the Spanish side to turn down.
United really do need to qualify for the Champions League by beating Ajax in the Europa League final, if they do not then there is no guarantee that the 26-year-old will agree with a move to Old Trafford.
But money speaks and if United offer a king’s ransom in wages then anything is possible.
