Liverpool has been given the all-clear to sign Nice defender, Henrique Dalbert. The Reds had been battling with Inter Milan for the defender’s signature but the Italians appear to have pulled out of the deal to sign him.
Jurgen Klopp is still in the market for reinforcement despite having a large and considerably strong squad at his possession. The German wants a new defender as well as a new midfielder.
Virgil Van Dijk remains Klopp’s number one defence target, but signing the Dutchman has become complicated after Southampton reported the Reds to the Premier League for tapping him up.
Nice value Dalbert at £26 million after his dazzling performance for them last season, but they are believed to be willing to negotiate with a serious buyer, and if Liverpool does press ahead with the move, he could be theirs for £20 million.
Liverpool have jetted to Germany for a series of friendly games, Klopp has the opportunity to test his current defensive option whether they are capable of providing the required level of performance he wants from them this season before making a move for Dalbert.
