Southampton centre back Virgil Van Dijk, is the subject of a transfer tussle between English giants Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Dutch defender has not played for the Saints since January due to injury, but his early season form means that teams would still be on the lookout for him during the summer.
Liverpool are reportedly in a firm position to sign the player after they met with his representatives last week.
Arsenal are also confident of signing the player, but with their 2-0 loss to Tottenham at the weekend hitting their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season, they may lose the player to Liverpool. Though the reds are far from certain themselves of qualifying.
The Reds have just signed Dejan Lovren to a new deal, but with constant injuries to the Croatian and his partner, Joel Matip, they know that they need credible back up if they are to compete in Europe next season.
The Player could cost any of his potential employers upwards of £35 million, but his recent injury should be a cause of concern to them too. He might not come back as the same player he was before he got injured.
