Leeds United defender, Pontus Jansson could be playing in the Premier League next season. The defender has been in inspiring form since coming to England last summer. It is believed that there are several top flight teams who have been scouting him.
The 26 year old has made 32 appearances for the promotion chasing Leeds and almost joined Southampton during the winter transfer window. The saints were expecting to sell Van Dijk during that window, and had planned to sign him as the Dutchman’s replacement.
Southampton, who may still sell Van Dijk, have now been joined by Liverpool and Chelsea in chasing the defender’s signature. It is believed that Liverpool have been scouting him this season, and expect to make a move for him when the transfer window officially opens. The Reds may lose Lucas this season, and the Brazilian has been used at centre back position for the club this season, his departure would mean another player is needed to cover for Matip, Klavan and Lovren.
Leeds United want to keep the defender beyond this summer, and they may win promotion to the Premier League. But the Player’s agent has disclosed that his client will be playing in the Premier League next season, it is uncertain whether it would be for Leeds or another team.
