After rejecting Arsenal’s new contract offer, it appears as though Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain may join another top four rival. The England midfielder is entering the final year of his current deal with the Gunners and has been unhappy with the lack of priority his contract renewal has been accorded from the Gunners hierarchy.
The Gunners London neighbours Chelsea are keen on signing Chamberlain and according to Mirror Sport, the Blues have been planning a swoop since it emerged that he may not renew his deal at the Emirates.
Chamberlain also wants guarantees of first team football and believes he may not get it anytime soon at the Emirates.
Liverpool is also interested in signing Chamberlain, with their manager a firm admirer of the attacking midfielder.
According to Metro Sports, the Reds striker Daniel Sturridge also recently appeared to be helping his club’s cause, as he was spotted liking a post that talked about Chamberlain joining the Reds.
The two English men have known each other from the England national team. Sturridge might help Liverpool convince the Ox to join the Reds.
Arsenal is willing to listen to offers and have set an asking price of £25 million for his signature.
