Liverpool and West Ham in battle to sign top quality attacker

Benfica is bracing themselves for bids from the Premier League for their top striker.

The Portuguese team has been made aware of the interest of Liverpool and West Ham in their record signing, Raul Jimenez. The attacker has been in fine form since he joined them from Atletico Madrid for £18 million.

Jimenez has become a key player for Benfica, but they are a selling club and believe at the age of 26 it is time to sell him.

Jimenez was reportedly supposed to sign for West Ham in 2015 but overslept and missed his medicals, which prompted the Hammers to pull out of the deal. They are now back for him and hope they can sign him as a better player this time.

Liverpool also needs another attacker as they return to Europe. Despite the availability of Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge, and Danny Ings, Jurgen Klopp is still not satisfied and wants another attacker to cover for the loss of form or injury.

Benfica would demand a fee in the region of £20 million for the North American.
