Liverpool is still ahead of other clubs in the race to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita despite mounting interest in the 22-year-old.
The Senegalese midfielder is one of the best in his position in the Bundesliga and has attracted the interest of several top European teams this season after he helped his surprise team to finish the season in second place.
RB Leipzig is desperate to keep the player for at least one more season after securing Champions League football.
The Reds are hopeful that the impact that Saido Mane has made in Merseyside in just one season would help them convince Keita to join. The Reds hired a personal chef and created a prayer room for Mane at the club’s facility when he joined them last summer, this helped him concentrate on playing his football which he did very well last season.
Leipzig has slapped a £50 million price tag on Keita, however, this sum would not discourage Liverpool as they have made plans of their own to spend big this summer to help them challenge for major trophies successfully.
