There has been some reports which have revealed Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed the “framework” is in place for him to sign a new deal at Anfield.
Rodgers is set to put pen to paper once the Reds have completed what has been a remarkable season.
The Merseyside club were tasked with breaking into the Premier League’s top four but have surpassed that ambition and were very close to winning the League, but a poor defence has let them down.
As quoted on the TalkSport website, he said: “I’ve obviously been in discussions with the club and there is the framework of a deal that is in place.
“But I have always said it will be at the end of the season. I want nothing to detract from what has been a great season for ourselves. Hopefully we will resolve it over the course of the off-season.”
