James Rodriguez could be on his way to Liverpool this summer if they qualify for the European Champions League. The Anfield club believe that their bid to sign the Colombian would be given a much needed boost if they are able to secure European football for next season.
Liverpool have been bidding to sign the South American for some time but have been unsuccessful, however the Colombian is now set to leave the Bernabeu after failing to secure first team football under Zinedine Zidane.
There are reports that he has been offered to Chelsea as part of the deal to bring Eden hazard to madrid, this has made the Colombian actively looking for a new club in the summer.
Although James has a contract with Real Madrid that runs until the summer of 2020, and there seem to be a lot of competition for his signature from top European clubs, Liverpool are said to be leading the race with speculations that there has already been contacts between the club and his representatives.
It is believed that they have been told that he can only leave Real Madrid for a club that is playing the Champions League.
