Liverpool Chairman admits he expects big time Liverpool deal to be signed soon

Liverpool are confident Raheem Sterling WILL sign a new deal with the club, according to the Sky Sports website.

Speculation has continued over the future of the England man despite boss Brendan Rodgers’ continued assurances the rising star will stay at the club.

However, Reds chairman Tom Werner insists he still believes the 20-year-old will sign a contract extension.

He said: “All I can say is that I’m hopeful that we’ll conclude a deal.

“Obviously it’s important for us. He’s an exceptional player.

“Brendan and Ian Ayre are quite involved and Brendan is talking to Raheem about this and I hope and expect a very positive outcome that is good for Raheem – and good for the club.

“I would say that I’m confident that we will reach an agreement that works for all parties.”
