Southampton centre back Virgil van Dijk is wanted by Liverpool, according to the latest transfer gossip coming out of the media.
Man City and Chelsea are also reported to be interested in signing the Dutch star, but Liverpool do have a habit of signing Southampton players, which must give them a good chance this time round, simply because relationships between the clubs are very good considering all the deals they have done together.
Southampton have slapped a £45 Million asking price on van Dijk, a figure that all three clubs can easily afford.
The final decision will no doubt rest with the player himself, which club he believes will give him more first team opportunities and a better chance of silverware.
It will be interesting to see which of the three clubs blinks first and tables an offer, either the full asking price or very close to it.
van Dijk moved to Southampton from Celtic back in June 2013, he has made 51 first team appearances and 12 international appearances for the Netherlands.
