Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd hopes of signing Serie A take a hit
Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man Utd have been dealt a huge blow in their quest to sign AS Roma Defender, Kostas Manolas. The Greek defender has been on the radar of the Premier Leagues top 6 teams this season, and at least one of these teams were prepared to make a bid for the player.
However, AS Roma has come out to say they expect the player to stay in Rome beyond next season.
This is contrary to reports that Roma have accepted a €36 Million offer from Inter Milan for the defender.
Liverpool have scouted Manolas throughout this season. The Reds are still looking for their best central defensive combination. Many thought Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren’s partnership would have solved the Red’s defensive problems, but that has not happened, as they have conceded sloppy goals against Bournemouth and Stoke City recently.
Chelsea want Manolas to fill the void that would be left by John Terry when the Englishman finally leaves the club this summer.
Man Utd believes Manolas would help bring much needed experience into their back line, as the try to win the EPL next season.
