Liverpool have entered the race to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita. The Guinean is in high demand in all of Europe after starring for the German League contenders this season.

Keita’s form is one of the reasons Leipzig are on the cusp of qualifying for the Champions League after just one season in the German top flight.

He is one of a few central midfielders in Europe who contribute to their team’s effort with goals. He has scored seven goals and eight assists in his 25 league games this season.

Liverpool’s central midfield position is not short of good players, however only a few of those players contribute goals to the team. Gini Wijnaldum is one of Liverpool’s best but he has scored only 5 goals in 30 games this season. Emre Can has scored only 4 goals in 20 starts, other fellow midfield have not help the team with enough goals either.

Jurgen Klopp believes that if he can get Naby Keita, they would be able to reduce the goal scoring burden on their attackers.
