Liverpool facing yet another uncomfortable transfer window

Barcelona has not given up on signing Philippe Coutinho and will be making yet another concerted attempt to sign the Liverpool playmaker in January, according to the Spanish press.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo is reporting that the Catalan giants will be meeting with the Brazilian’s agents Kiavash Joorabchian and Giuliano next week and are confident that a deal with the player will be agreed.

The advantage for the Reds is that Coutinho’s contract runs until 2022 and they have already shown they will not sell unless Barcelona stumps up a ridiculous amount of the money and Coutinho knows that as well.

Jurgen Klopp has made it very clear that Liverpool are not a selling club previously declaring,

‘There is no price limit to let him go or a price that we are ready to give in,’

But money speaks in the end and if Barca does make an outrageous offer, which is still possible, then Coutinho will depart Anfield.

It does seem more likely that Barcelona will eventually get their man, Coutinho has shown his professionalism since the summer but it is doubtful that he will accept his dream move to Spain being denied to him once again.

Whatever happens, a winter of discontent looks on the cards for the Reds.
