As the winter transfer window approaches, several clubs have begin to make plans to add to their roster, and several other players have been linked to teams. However, history suggests that Liverpool would not be one of the teams that will be busy in this transfer window.
The Reds made two signings in the last winter window, which was Jurgen Klopp’s first transfer window. Steve Caulker joined on loan while Marco Grujic was signed and loaned back to his former club. Prior to January 2016 you would have to go back to the 2013 winter window before you would see the Reds being busy. They signed Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho in that window and they have gone on to become key players for them.
While many would agree that Jurgen Klopp’s squad need reinforcement especially in defence, the German himself failed to sign any player in the last winter transfer window arguing that it was hard to get the best player at that time.
However, a few Liverpool players are expected to leave on loan, with the likes of Danny Ings and Lazar Markovic all in need of first team football.
