Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho is poised to seal a big money move away from the club, despite not featuring for them for the past 15 months.
The Frenchman was banished from the club’s tour of America last summer after repeatedly breaking club rules and spent the first half of this season with the club’s under-23s. However, a January loan move to Crystal Palace helped kickstart his career before a knee injury curtailed his progress in London.
He is back at Melwood, but he has not trained with the rest of the club’s first team as he continues his rehabilitation with the club’s medical staffs.
Jurgen Klopp has not spoken about the defender’s position this season, but he does not appear to have forgiven the Sakho, with the Reds open to selling the player. They have been fielding enquiries about Sakho’s availability from a host of clubs.
The Reds want £30 million for his signature and are confident they will sell him for that price. Their chances of getting their desired fee were boosted by Everton’s signing of Michael Keane from Burnley for £25 million despite the Manchester United graduate having just one year left on his contract with the Clarets.
