Opinion and rumours continue to grow over the Liverpool future of the outstanding Mohamed Salah.
The latest pundit to come out and claim that the Reds will struggle to hold onto the 25-year-old hitman is BBC Sport pundit and former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks, who claims that Real Madrid could be lining up an audacious bid for the Egyptian.
Salah has been in scintillating form this season and continued his brilliant scoring form with four goals in the 5-0 win over Watford at the weekend.
Salah now tops the goalscoring charts of the top five leagues in Europe with 28 in just 30 games and it is that scoring form that has the likes of Real Madrid interested in signing the striker.
Crooks feels the Salah situation is similar to the one that Tottenham faced in their final season with Gareth Bale when everyone and their uncle accepted that the Welsh wizard would be departing Tottenham for Spain.
“Everything this man touches seems to turn to gold,” Crooks said on the BBC Sport website.
“Thirty-six goals in 41 appearances for Liverpool is quite extraordinary.
“Former Liverpool greats like Peter Thompson and Steve Highway never got anywhere near that return.
“Liverpool fans may have to brace themselves, however, for an audacious bid from Real Madrid in the summer.
“This lad is having the same impact across Europe as Gareth Bale had in his final season at Tottenham. And we all know what happened after that.”
