Liverpool is ready to act on the additional boost they have received about one of their targets. The Reds are looking for a top striker who can score at least 20 league goals per season, and may be able to sign one soon.
Liverpool has been looking to sign Olympique Lyon’s attacker Alexandre Lacazette who has scored at least 20 league goals over the past few seasons making him one of Europe’s most consistent attackers.
Lacazette’s preferred club is Atletico Madrid, however after the Spaniards had their transfer ban until January upheld, he is set to join another team.
Olympique Lyon seriously wants to keep him for another season, with their club’s president confirming that they would hold talks with the player again with hopes of convincing him to stay. But Lacazette, who has been at the club since he was a teenager, is set for a new challenge and has previously told the club about that ambition.
The Reds believe that a bid of around £40 million and the promise of first team football would help them pull the deal through. However, Arsene Wenger remains confident he can land his fellow countryman despite failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
