Liverpool join Tottenham and Arsenal in race to sign coveted French midfielder
Liverpool have reportedly join the list of clubs that want to sign French midfield strongman Geoffrey Kondogbia. The midfielder has been linked with a move for the past three transfer windows.
Kondogbia has impressed at all his former teams since he turned professional. He starred for Sevilla and earned a big money move to Monaco, and impressed there before signing for Inter Milan for £35 million.
His career at Inter has not gone as he expected, he was sidelined under former coach, frank D Boer, only returning to the lineup when the Dutchman was sacked and Stefano Pioli was installed as his replacement.
Kondogbia has been on the radar of several English top six teams including, Tottenham and Arsenal, as well as the Reds.
Tottenham are looking for a replacement for Mousa Sissoko who has been a huge disappointment since making the move to White Heart Lane. Mauricio Pochettino wants a combative midfielder that can help shield his defence, and Kondogbia fits the profile.
Liverpool are expected to lose Lucas by the end of this season, and would love a player of Kondogbia’s stamina to replace him.
Inter Milan have enough cash to see them keep their best players, but with all his suitors likely to be playing in the Champion’s league next season, Kondogbia may ask to move.
