Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler has given his former team some very controversial advice. The former Reds striker has advised Jurgen Klopp to sign Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian is the Premier League’s top scorer and looks set to re-join his former team Chelsea, but Fowler believes he is the kind of player Liverpool needs, and they should join the race for his signature.
According to him, Liverpool have struggled against lesser opponents this season, because they lack a striker like Harry Kane, Diego Costa, and Romelu Lukaku who could physically tussle with these teams’ defenders.
Liverpool have had to use Roberto Firmino as a false 9 most of the time this season, but the skillful Brazilian has found it hard to unlock the defence of lesser opponents.
Fowler believes, Lukaku’s strength and speed is what Liverpool’s attackers lack.
The Reds have been linked to some strikers this season including Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, and they expect to get rid of Daniel Sturridge this summer.
However, the last time a player moved from Everton to Liverpool was in 2002 when Abel Xavier joined the Reds for £800,000.
