Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may have indicated that Philippe Coutinho would not be leaving the Reds this summer, but he does not have the final say in terms of transfers and has made plans just in case Barcelona make an outrageous offer for the Brazilian.
Coutinho was the subject of a £80 million bid from Barcelona last week, but the Reds turned it down citing the midfielder’s importance to their cause this season.
However, the Brazilian is expected to sit down with Klopp to inform the German of his dream of playing alongside Neymar, Suarez, and Messi.
Whether Klopp will allow him to leave this summer or the next one, is still unknown, but the German has identified a long term replacement in Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic.
The American teenager was the subject of transfer interest from Klopp last summer, but Borussia Dortmund was not ready to cash in yet. That stance may have changed and Klopp is looking to take advantage.
With Coutinho set to earn the Reds around £100 million, they might make an outrageous bid of around £50 million for Pulisic.
