Liverpool linked with shock summer move for Greek International

Liverpool are keen on the signing of Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas.

According to reports on the SportsDirectNews website, Manolas has captured the attention of Premier League scouts since moving to Olympiakos on a free transfer from AEK Athens in 2012.

Manolas nearly joined Everton at the start of 2012 after AEK agreed a fee with the Toffees, only for the player to decline to opportunity to move.

But Brendan Rodgers is seeking to step up his interest, as he needs some more defensive reinforcements.

However, there are so many clubs chasing the 22-year-old, it is hard to know where he will end up next season, but Liverpool are hoping to be able to add him to their squad.
