Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne may be a Liverpool player when the 2017/2018 season starts. The Italian is currently negotiating a new deal with Napoli but the club and his representatives are a long way from an agreement.
This is a welcome boost for Liverpool who have been scouting the player for a long time now. Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a firm admirer of the 25 year old and wants to add him to his exciting attacking lineup.
Insigne has been targeted by Arsenal, Bayern and Barcelona after scoring 16 goals and assisting 10 more in all competitions this season.
Klopp has admitted regret at not adding players to his squad during the winter transfer window, and the injury to Saido Mane has limited his options in attack, he believes Insigne is a player that would complement his attacking trio of Coutinho, Firmino, and Mane.
Insigne’s representatives are asking for an annual salary in the region of £3.5 Million, but Napoli are reluctant to offer more than £2.5 Million for the Naples born player.
His wage demand would not be a problem for Liverpool.
