Liverpool have stepped up their search for a long term left back, by targeting Hull City’s Andrew Robertson.
The Scottish left back has been one of the best and reliable players in the Hull squad this season, he has played in all but five games for them as he continues to help them in their fight to avoid relegation this season. His form has seen him attract the interest of some of England’s top teams this season.
He was a subject of a £10 million bid from Burnley during that winter’s transfer window, but the deal never went through.
Liverpool now look to be in pole position to sign the 23 year old. The Reds have had to use James Milner in their left back position this season, but Jurgen Klopp wants a naturally left footed player to take up that position from next season.
Liverpool believe a bid in the region of £8 million would be enough to tempt the Tigers to sell the player.
Hull are still struggling to avoid relegation this season, however it is believed that the player’s future is not dependent on Hull’s Premier League safety.
