Liverpool’s search for a permanent solution to their left-back problem is still on-going, and the Reds hope to solve that problem this summer.
That search has led them to offer a contract to former Arsenal and Manchester City left back, Gael Clichy.
The Frenchman was recently released by Manchester City after his contract ran out, and Jurgen Klopp believes he still has at least two years of top quality performance to offer in England.
The Reds have reportedly offered him a two-year contract with the option for an additional year based on performances.
The left back position is the most problematic position for Liverpool right now, the Reds used James Milner in that position last season after Klopp gave up on the error-prone Alberto Moreno. Although Milner did a good job, Klopp wants to sign an experienced natural left back to man that position.
Clichy has received offers from several other teams with a move back home to France also a possibility and is currently considering his options ahead of the new season.
