Liverpool set their sights on outstanding Brazilian youngster

Liverpool are in pole position to secure a deal for Gremio’s Brazilian starlet, Luan.

The midfielder who starred for Brazil at the last Rio Olympic games has been the subject of interest from several top European sides, but Liverpool looks to be his most likely destination if he was to move. Jurgen Klopp is very happy with the contributions of his Brazilian contingent and wants more of that flair in his team for next season as they challenge for four major trophies.

The 24 year old Brazilian has just over a year left on his current deal and has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from the Porto Alegre side.

Gremio feel they have to sell Luan this summer to avoid losing him for a very low fee or nothing at the end of his contract.

The player’s representatives reportedly flew to London last April and a meeting was reportedly held with Liverpool where it is believed that personal terms have been reached, and what’s left is for the Reds to make an official bid for the player.

Luan was one of the stars of Brazil gold-medal winning team at the Rio Olympics and confirmed his reputation as one of the best young players in his country by scoring two stunning goals, one in the quarterfinals, and another in the semis.

He can play across the front three, and Jurgen Klopp is desperate to add him to his star-studded attacking line-up.
