Liverpool set to make huge bid for player dubbed the next Messi
Reports from Spain claim that Liverpool have made a humongous bid for a player who has been described as the “next Messi”.
Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio, is one of the most coveted youngsters in Spain right now, and his impressive record has attracted the interest of some of Europe’s top clubs.
He has been tracked by the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Man City, but it seems Liverpool has stolen a march on all of them by tabling an early bid for the youngster.
Per the source, the Reds have made a bid of £45 Million for the Spaniard and hopes it will be enough to tempt Real into selling. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, has said that they have to spend big this summer to show that they have learnt from their lack of spending during the January transfer window.
However, it is claimed that Real Madrid rejected the bid immediately after Liverpool made the offer.
Real Madrid see him as the future of their team, and are not ready to let him go at the moment.
He is currently just 21 years old and can play across the front three, Liverpool had hoped they could add him to their exciting attack for next season.
