Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp appears determined to thwart any attempts by West Ham Utd to sign Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window.
The Hammers are desperate to make a top signing in the new year and view Sturridge as the ideal acquisition to placate the fans, who are becoming frustrated at the teams performances on the field.
Money does not appear to be the issue, West Ham can afford the England striker and by all accounts are prepared to pay a high fee.
The issue appears to be the Reds manager Klopp, who is not prepared to weaken his squad by allowing any of his players to leave in the winter transfer window, he wants to maintain squad depth in order to continue the push for a top four spot and a possible title challenge.
Sturridge would probably welcome a move if he does not get more game time and may yet try and force Klopps hand, but as things stand at this minute in time he will not be going nowhere in January and West Ham will have to look elsewhere.
