Liverpool’s current longest serving player, Lucas Leiva is on the verge of leaving the English giants.
The Brazilian has been at Anfield for the past ten years and has become a fans favourite. However, first team opportunities have been rare and he is set to continue his career elsewhere.
According to Talksport, quoting a Turkish outlet, Lucas is currently in advance talks with Turkish giants, Trabzonspor. The Turkish team have emerged as front-runners in the race for his signature after Galatasaray failed to sign him in January.
Per the source, the deal is only being held back by salary demands from the players. Lucas has reportedly demanded for £3 million per season, but Trabzonspor are only willing to pay him £2.2 million per season.
Liverpool will not stand in the way of Lucas who has only one year left on his current deal at Anfield.
Lucas would be missed at Liverpool, as he has become a model professional. Despite having a tough start to his Liverpool career, the Brazilian won over the fan’s heart with his dedication and leadership qualities.
