It has been revealed in the Daily Express website that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez will stay as Brendan Rodgers and his agent had talks and the boss is confident that the little forward will not leave even if the season is a failure.
Suarez is represented by Pere Guardiola, brother of impending Bayern Munich coach Pep, with the German club one of a number of teams linked with a summer move for the talismanic forward.
Liverpool manager Rodgers conceded that Suarez deserved to be showcasing his shimmering skills, which have helped him plunder 25 goals this season, in the Champions League, but when asked if he expected him to remain on Merseyside was upbeat.
“At this stage, I believe so yes,” said Rodgers, who is set to be without the injured Daniel Sturridge at the DW Stadium due to a recurrence of a thigh injury.
“Luis certainly deserves to be in the Champions League. Steven Gerrard deserves to be as well. A number of players deserve to be on that stage.” (Daily Express)
Suarez has been fantastic this season and is now one of the best strikers in Europe so the news he will probably stay will put a smile on many of the Liverpool fans faces as they cannot afford to lose him.
