Swansea City are reported to be on the verge of making an offer for Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke as soon as the January transfer window opens.
Solanke has not made the breakthrough at Liverpool that he hoped for and his future at Anfield is now open to doubt and this has prompted the Welsh side to start making preparations for an offer.
Swansea are favourites to sign the youngster according to the bookies, which further confirms that something is set to happen.
Paul Clements side desperately needs a striker that is for sure, they have managed to score just seven goals this season and unless they sort that quickly then Championship football is beckoning.
Swansea are not the only club interested in the services of the 20-year-old, Aston Villa, Celtic, West Brom and Wolves have all been linked with a move for the youngster and in fact, Villa manager boss Steve Bruce has gone on record describing Solanke’s situation as “ludicrous.”
“We need the larger clubs to have associations with the smaller ones,” Bruce said .
“Feeder clubs? Yes. The general consensus is that the under-23s isn’t quite working.
“If you play when you are 18 and you are successful, you need the next step.
“At the moment, we’ve got the ludicrous situation of Solanke playing for England when he’s hardly had a game with Liverpool. That can’t be right.”
