Liverpool struggling to sign quality players after yet another snub

Liverpool are struggling to bring in a top quality replacement for Philippe Coutinho despite having a massive transfer budget, according to the latest media reports.

The latest player to reject a move to Anfield is reportedly Monaco star Thomas Lemar, who has made it clear that he wants to move to Spain.

Both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are very interested in signing the French international who nearly joined Arsenal last summer.

Lemar comes with a valuation of £92 Million, a figure that Liverpool can easily afford following the sale of Coutinho to Barcelona for £142 Million but that appears to make no difference to the young forward, his heart is set on Spain.

Lemar is not the first player that Jurgen Klopp has coveted but been unable to land, Alexis Sanchez was also targeted by the Reds but his ridiculous wage demands scuppered any chance of a deal with the Chilean.

Schalke’s Leon Goretzka was another target but he is set to sign for Bayern Munich when his contract ends in the summer.

Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri is another player that Klopp reportedly liked but Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in the 26-year-old.

There is still time to go in this transfer window but it is not looking good for Liverpool at this stage.
