Liverpool is still looking to finalise their first transfer deal this summer. The Reds have been linked with a few players through the footballing season, but are yet to make an announcement of any new signing ahead of next season.
They have however been dealt a major blow as they look for their first signing after learning that one of their targets favours a move to Juventus.
Liverpool have been interested in signing SS Lazio’s winger Keita Balde this summer, but the player has had his head turned by the chance of playing for Italian champions Juventus.
Jurgen Klopp had hoped to pair Balde with his Senegalese winger Saido Mane in a deadly attacking line-up next season for the Reds as they continue to experience problems in their pursuit of former Chelsea winger Mohammed Salah.
Balde is entering into the final 12 months of his current contract and may be moved on for a sum lesser than Mohammed Salah. The Reds had hoped to conclude a deal with Lazio in the region of £26 million, but the player is not interested in moving to England at the moment.
Liverpool will take their focus back to pulling Salah’s deal through with an improved offer, after seeing their first rejected by the Romans.
