Liverpool is edging closer to signing their top summer target as the player continues to insist he wants to join the Reds.
Liverpool has been in talks with RB Leipzig for some weeks now over the transfer of Guinean midfielder, Naby Keita. But the German side is refusing to negotiate a deal with them.
The Red Bull-backed team had a solid campaign last season which was their first campaign in the Bundesliga, and their performances earned them a place in next season’s Champions League as they finished second below Bayern Munich. They have continued to insist that they would not sell any of their best players this season.
Liverpool wants a defensive midfielder, central defender and a full back, and Naby Keita is in the mould of the defensive midfielder the Reds manager wants.
The player himself appears to have set his sight on joining Liverpool, a decision he has made known to his club. However, further talks are planned, and Keita plans to remain keen on joining the Reds.
