Liverpool are ready to battle it out with Italian champions Juventus for the signature of Atalanta teenager Franck Kessie, according to reports coming out of Italy.
Juventus are said to be in pole position to sign the 19 year old, but Liverpool have now emerged as serious contenders claim the Italian media.
Jurgen Klopp has apparently already had his scouts monitor Kessie on at least two occasions this season.
The youngster scored five times in his first four games for Atalanta this season and now finds himself a hot commodity, with a whole host of clubs interested in attaining his services.
While Liverpool and Juventus are the front runners, Man Utd, Man City, Napoli, Sevilla, Roma, Monaco and Chelsea are also reported to be interested in the young Ivorian international.
Kessie has already appeared for the Ivory Coast on ten occasions and made 11 appearances for Atalanta, his primary role is as a holding midfielder, however, he is excellent going forward with a nose for goal, whoever manages to sign him could end up having a world class talent emerge in the next few years.
