Liverpool has rejected a £11m offer from Napoli for defender Alberto Moreno and will only sell if the Italians come back with a bid in the region of £15 Million.
Moreno lost his place at left back to James Milner, he has fallen out of favour with manager Jurgen Klopp and his sale was always expected, however, the Reds will not let any of their players depart for a fee they believe to be on the low side.
Napoli is not the only club interested in the 24-year-old, Sevilla, AC Milan and Inter Milan are also said to be monitoring the Spaniard’s situation at Anfield.
There had been high hopes for Moreno when he signed for the Reds but he has failed to live up to expectations and once he was replaced by Milner the writing was always on the wall.
Liverpool may well have decided to allow Moreno to leave but it will be on their terms and with so many clubs interested they are in the position where they can hold out for a half decent transfer fee.
The ball is now firmly in Napoli’s court, they either cough up the extra four million or face missing out on a player that still has a lot to offer despite not quite making it in the Premier League.
