Manchester City wants to take advantage of the fact that Valencia are struggling to raise a transfer fee for their on-loan Player Eliaquim Mangala and swap him with Jose Luis Gaya.
Man City have been scouting Gaya, and have him on their list of possible signings for their full back position.
Spanish sources claims that Valencia would welcome the idea of a swap deal, as they want to keep Mangala permanently. However, Gaya is valued at £30 million, a sum that is significantly higher than the value of Mangala. This means that Man City would still have to add cash if they want to get the deal through.
Gaya is 21 and is one of the most promising youngsters in Spain right now. Man City are looking to replace almost all their full backs this season. Pablo Zabaletta, Gael Clichy, and Bacary Sagna are all over the age of 30 and have been showing that their legs can no longer carry them.
Guardiola plans to shape up his shaky defence when the season ends, and wants Gaya to be part of the new set up.
