Man City looking to thwart Tottenham bid for flying winger

Crystal Palace In-form Winger Wilfried Zaha, is a transfer target of Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. The Ivorian who turned his back on the English National team has been in sensational form this season, and his goal and assist helped Crystal Place stun Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

Tottenham are long term admirers of Zaha, and were close to signing him last season for £25 Million but the deal fell through because Crystal palace were unwilling to let the winger go at the time. The winger is a major contributor to the club’s resurgence under Sam Alladyce. But at the age of 24, the player and the Eagles feel it is time for the player to play for a team competing in Europe.

Reports coming from the Etihad claims that Pep Guardiola has made the winger a top target for City. Guardiola is gradually assembling some of Europe’s most exciting young players and believes that Zaha is as exciting as those at his disposal.

The Citizens expect Yahaya Toure and Jesus Navas to leave this summer, they both are in the final year of their deal with the club, and with no new deal being offered at this time, it is unlikely that the club would offer them a new contract.
