Man City move ahead of Arsenal and Man Utd in race to sign South American superstar
Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez, has been contacted by Manchester City as they hope to beat rivals to his signature.
The Colombian is on his way out of Real Madrid and has kept his options open for clubs to offer him deals, as he is looking for the best financial offer.
Rodriguez was rumoured to be close to agreeing a deal with Manchester United last week, but the Colombian has had his head turned by the lure of joining Pep Guardiola’s revolution at Manchester City.
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane, has told the Colombian he can leave after the player complained about his limited opportunities at the club.
Arsenal are also very interested in the player. They have tried to sign him twice in the past. When he was at FC Porto, and before left AS Monaco.
Each time the player snubbed them for a club willing to pay him higher wages. The Gunners believe this is their opportunity. If they make him the joint highest earner in the Premier League he may well join Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.
