Manchester City are reportedly ready to hand Aleksandar Kolarov a new deal at the club, according to the Sky Sports website.
A new contract has been drawn up in an attempt to keep the Serbia international from the clutches of several suitors, including Roberto Mancini’s Galatasaray.
Mancini signed Kolarov for the Blues at the start of his three-and-a-half year tenure as boss and is keen on luring the player to Turkey at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old will have only one year remaining on his current deal when the transfer window re-opens, making City vulnerable to cut-price offers.
However, positive talks are under way to keep him in Manchester following a successful campaign in which he has taken the first-choice left-back spot from team-mate Gael Clichy.
