Manchester United are in talks with French club Monaco over extending the stay of Radamel Falcao, according to the Metro website.
The striker moved to Old Trafford on transfer deadline day last summer on a season-long loan deal, but has struggled to find form in England.
However, United’s chief executive Ed Woodward met with Falcao’s parent club on Sunday, but remains adamant no final decision will be taken until the end of the season.
Monaco’s vice president Vadim Vasilyev said: ‘I saw the Manchester United people last Sunday and they have not yet decided if they would exercise the option..
‘It’s not his best season, but they kept the opportunity to make a decision at the end of the season.
‘We are not in any other negotiations, even if big clubs are interested. The decision is with Manchester, then we will discuss with the player what he wants. I would like to have more visibility.’ Metro
