Reports have revealed that Inter Milan are close to agreeing a contract extension with Argentine striker and Manchester United target Mauro Icardi, according to the Daily Mirror.
United were leading the race to secure his signature earlier this year, but it now appears he may be ready to put pen to paper to extend his San Siro stay.
The 22-year-old, whose current deal runs until June 2018, has already netted 18 goals in 31 Serie A appearances this term.
Inter vice president Javier Zanetti said: “Mauro is very calm and serene about his future. You clearly see that he’s enjoying himself on the pitch.
“We are very happy to have him in our team. We are close to agreeing a contract renewal with Mauro. He will be important for Inter in the future.”
