Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal with Burnley to re-sign their academy product, Michael Keane.
The defender came through the ranks at old Trafford before moving to Burnley for £2.5 million in the summer of 2015, however, the Red Devils reportedly inserted a buy-back clause as well as a sell-on clause in the deal. Now they want to activate the buy-back clause and bring the defender back to Manchester.
Since leaving Manchester United, Keane has developed into one of the best centre backs in the English Premier League.
This rapid development has seen Keane attract the interest of several top English teams this season, and Burnley are preparing to sell the player for at least £20 million.
Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal and Man City have been tracking the defender and are ready to battle each other for his signature.
Close friends and relatives of Keane claim the player’s preference is a return to Old Trafford, but Burnley know they would make less money if they sell him to United.
