Man Utd and Chelsea forced into a waiting game for South American superstar
Manchester United and Chelsea will have to wait on developments in Spain if they are to sign long term target James Rodriguez.
It seems that the only chance the English clubs have of signing the Colombian superstar is if his team mate Isco decides to stay with Real Madrid, if he does not then Real will not allow Rodriguez to leave.
Isco has yet to sign a contract extension and with his contract expiring next summer a state of limbo has descended.
Isco has complained repeatedly about lack of game time and this is why he is stalling on signing a new contract and to make matters worse, Barcelona are hovering.
If Real do manage to persuade Isco to sign an extension then the chances of them allowing Rodriguez to leave are high, but for now it is a waiting game for all concerned.
It is no secret that Chelsea wanted Rodriguez back in the summer and United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be an admirer of the 25 year old.
It should also be noted that the Colombian has made it clear he would rather stay in Spain with the European champions, but it may not be up to him in the end.
