Manchester United have begun plans to replace Luke Shaw after it emerged that the Englishman wants a move away from Old Trafford. Shaw has had a very public falling out with Jose Mourinho, and it seems the player no longer has a future at the club as long as Mourinho is still the coach.
The player that Mourinho wants to replace Shaw with is Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.
Tierney is two years younger than Shaw, but appears a lot more focused and disciplined about his career. Mourinho is said to have been impressed by the players conduct on and off the pitch and wants to work with him.
United want to sign a left back that will serve the club for years, and the club had initially thought that Luke Shaw will serve this purpose. However, a combination of injuries, lack of form and an undisciplined lifestyle has curtailed his development at Old Trafford.
Tierney is valued at £10 million, and it is believed that Man Utd are willing to offer a little above that figure to make sure they tempt Celtic enough to sell him.
