Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, has criticised Jose Mourinho’s man-management style at Manchester United. The United boss has been openly criticising his players recently, and the former England defender thinks that is not professional. Mourinho criticised his strikers after United’s draw against West Brom last week and criticised Luke Shaw again before last night’s game against Everton.

After the game which United managed to draw again, the Portuguese gaffer told reporters that Luke Shaw was playing under his direction the whole time he was on the field.

Mourinho was looking for a reaction from his players after the draw against West Brom, But his criticism failed to yield any positive change, and the manager was left frustrated again.

According to Ferdinand who spent 12 successful years at Old Trafford, a manager is not supposed to go public with criticism of his player. But this has been Mourinho’s style of coaching.

His open criticism caused problems between him and his players at his former clubs, Real Madrid and Chelsea. This ultimately led to his sacking at those teams.
