Manchester United have receive a boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid star James Rodriguez. The Colombian is said to have chosen United over fierce rivals, Liverpool.
Rodriguez has been linked with a host of European teams this season, after deciding it was time to quit the Bernabeu. The Colombian has struggled to break into Zinedine Zidane’s first team this season, and intimated that he would look for a move away from the club this summer. This statement was said to have disappointed club fans and even his coach.
The midfielder has informed interested clubs that he would not take a pay cut to join them, indicating he may likely ask for more than he currently earns at Real Madrid.
This plays nicely to Manchester United’s advantage. The Red Devils have enough cash to burn and can afford whatever wage the Colombian wants.
Even though the South American would love to reunite with his former coach at Bayern, Man Utd would be able to offer him a bigger wage.
