Leicester is willing to let their first choice goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel join Manchester United if they can secure a deal for Gents 6.7inch goalie Lovre Kalinic.
The Croatian has been outstanding in the Belgian top flight and has attracted the interest of Leicester City scouts. However, the former Premier League champions have been told they would need to cough out £22 million to sign him. Leicester is believed to have made an offer in the region of £18 million, which has been rejected by the Belgians.
Schmeichel wants to follow the footstep of his father and represent the Red Devils, but face a huge fight to get a chance to impress at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho had initially wanted him to come in and replace Real Madrid-bound David De Gea, but since the Spaniard’s move to the Spanish capital stalled, they have not been keen to sign him. If he does move, he would most likely be the third choice behind De Gea and Sergio Romero.
The Foxes have also failed with a £12 million bid for Sevilla captain, Vicente Iborra.
