In the latest development over Manchester United’s prolonged summer pursuit of Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic, the Italians have requested that Anthony Martial be part of the deal to take the Croat to Old Trafford.
Perisic remains a top target for Jose Mourinho especially after the signing of Romelu Lukaku which means they would need more wingers to cross balls to the Belgian and his compatriot, Mouruane Fellaini.
Mourinho personally watched Perisic during an international break early this year and is said to have been impressed with the winger, including him in his list of transfer targets. However, the Red Devils have been struggling to sign him.
The main obstacle has been Inter’s reluctance to reduce their £50 million asking price for the winger. The Reds Devils believe he is worth a little less than that, but Inter is keen to keep hold of him and is not prepared to reduce their asking price.
However, English media is claiming that Inter is willing to let him leave if Manchester United would add Anthony Martial to the deal.
Martial had a fruitful 2015/2016 season after joining the Red Devils from AS Monaco that summer, however, he had an underwhelming campaign last season, occasionally coming under public criticism from his manager.
